Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni is preparing for two big releases in 2023: ‘Kuberaa’ under the direction of Shekar Kammula, and ‘Coolie‘ under the direction of Lokesh Kanagaraj. Speaking about his experience with the Rajinikanth film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the actor lavished his praises on the director. When describing him to an audience, the actor said that he was the “whistle factor” with a great fan following.

In the interview to Galatta Plus, Nagarjuna recalled his firsthand experience of Lokesh’s fandom. He goes, “But Lokesh is a whistle factor. I was with him on the streets of Chennai, and there’s a huge fan following for him. We went out to lunch, and people kept coming to him. He himself is a whistle factor.”

On explaining what makes Lokesh so special, Nagarjuna added, “His characters in previous films are fantastic. Perhaps my favorite is Vikram, and regarding the roles of Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi and even that of the nanny (Agent Tina), they really rock. For Coolie, apart from Rajni sir, there are Upendra from Kannada, Aamir Khan from Hindi, and I have just mentioned all those guys, and they’re just so much fun. That is the trump card of Coolie.”

He adds, “You know that when you walk into Lokesh’s room, he would say, ‘Walk in like a tiger.’ He really wants you to look intimidating. All his camera angles, all his lights, are designed to make you larger than life.”

Nagarjuna with a gratitude towards the director shared the following about his character, “I have a very important character in the film. I must thank Loki for the way he has presented me. ‘Coolie’ is a full-on whistle film.”

Besides Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna, ‘Coolie’ also features Aamir Khan and Upendra, along with Shruti Haasan, in important roles. The film produced by Sun Pictures will feature music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. It is set for a worldwide release on August 14 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and many other Indian languages.
