Former Chief Minister of Delhi and senior AAP leader Atishi on Friday, June 20, 2025 attacked the Central and Delhi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government. She accused that in the past 10 years BJP has registered over 200 false cases against AAP leaders and practiced revenge politics.

Atishi’s statement came as Delhi’s former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was summoned for questioning by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in relation to the investigation of the so-called scam of the construction of classrooms in Delhi government schools.

Addressing a press meet, Atishi stated,
“In the last 10 years, BJP’s central government agencies – like the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Income Tax Department (IT) and Delhi Police – have filed more than 200 false cases against Aam Aadmi Party leaders, but not a single rupee has been recovered till date.”

She quoted the Supreme Court’s remark in which the court had remarked that the central investigating agencies were behaving as ‘caged parrots’. The remark was made during Arvind Kejriwal’s bail hearing, which Atishi called a huge evidence of misuse of government agencies.

Atishi further stated that prior to Manish Sisodia, another senior party official Satyendra Jain also faced the ACB in the same case on June 6, 2025.

Conspiracy to divert attention from governance failure

Atishi blamed the BJP for using false cases against the Aam Aadmi Party to conceal the governance failure of its government in Delhi.

She said,
“Delhi is witnessing a massive power outage today, there’s a massive water shortage, roads are waterlogged everywhere. But the BJP is not solving these issues but making a drama of fake cases to distract the attention of the general public.”

Collusion with the education mafia

Atishi also made a serious charge that the BJP, along with the education mafia, wishes to shut down the government schools in Delhi so that private schools could be encouraged.

She stated:
“These individuals want to shut down government schools and are going for bogus scams for this. But headlines in newspapers alone are not evidence of a scam. If there was a scam, the evidence would have emerged by now.”

Delhi CM also attacked

Atishi also went on the attack against the current Delhi CM Rekha Gupta. She questioned:

“What has the people of Delhi achieved by Rekha Gupta so far? Is her greatest success only to provide a new color to the Mohalla Clinic and give it the name ‘Health Temple’?”

Atishi further said that this campaign launched by the BJP is harmful to democracy and it is evidence that power is being misused for quelling the voice of the opposition.

Conclusion:

This declaration of Atishi clearly indicates that the Aam Aadmi Party thinks the action being initiated by the Central Government is entirely politically motivated by revenge. He stated that the BJP is eager to shift the focus of the public away from the matters on which it should react – such as power shortage, water issue and corruption. He repeated that so far no tangible evidence has emerged in these over 200 cases, which establishes that all these acts are a ‘political stunt’.
