Apple has introduced a new design for all of its systems—iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, watchOS 26 and tvOS 26—that looks beautiful and is even more intuitive to use.

This new design is made of a new material called “Liquid Glass.” It is a translucent material that reflects and refracts things around it—meaning it changes with every movement.

As you scroll in iOS 26, the tab bar shrinks to keep the focus on the content. Scrolling back up, the tab bar reopens—for a very smooth experience.
8. Refreshments from notifications to lock screen
Apple has refreshed every part of the system—the time on the lock screen made in Liquid Glass, the Dock and widgets on the home screen, and the transparent menu bar on the Mac—with a new look everywhere.
9. New tools for developers
New APIs have been provided for SwiftUI, UIKit and AppKit so that developers can adopt this new design and make their apps more attractive and user-friendly.
