1. Course Introduction

  • The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has launched a new BTech Mathematics and Computing course in 2022, which aims to prepare experts in the field of future technologies and research.

2. Application Process and Important Dates

  • Online applications will start on 1 May 2025 and the last date to apply is 6 June 2025 at 11:59 pm. Classes will start on 1 August 2025.

3. Entry Eligibility

  • A valid score on the JEE Advanced exam is mandatory for admission to this course. Also, candidates must have passed 12th class or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, Mathematics and one language subject.

4. Course Structure

  • The course consists of a total of four semesters, with six subjects each of mathematics and computing. Apart from this, other subjects of science, humanities and engineering are also included.

5. Specialized study tracks

  • Students can choose study tracks to specialize in subjects such as mathematics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, quantum computing, signal processing, computational biology and mathematical finance.

6. Options in the fourth year

  • In the fourth year, students can do research or industry projects and also take an additional year to obtain an MTech degree.

7. Student strength and seats

  • The course has a total of 52 seats, of which 40 are general, 8 additional seats are for female candidates and 4 are reserved for foreign nationals.
