Hours after its military attack, the Indian Army published the videos of how the Armed Forces nationwide-mock-drill-india-2025-what-to-expect-and-how-to-prepare demolished the Pakistani terror camps under Operation Sindoor.

Nine terror camps were attacked and successfully demolished under today’s military operation in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack.

JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar said 10 of his family members, along with four close friends were martyred in a missile attack on the terror group’s headquarters in Bahawalpur.

The National Security Committee (NSC) stated that Pakistan

Reserved the right to react to India’s airstrikes in “self-defence” at a place, time, and manner of its choice, with the army authorizing to undertake “corresponding actions”, The Dawn reported.

Relying on Article 51 of the UN Charter, the NSC stated Pakistan had the right to retaliate in self-defence in order to “avenge the loss of Pakistani lives and blatant violation of its sovereignty”.

India carried out targeted strikes on terror camps in Pakistan early on Wednesday.

“I am extremely proud of the air strike conducted against Pakistan. I salute the military and hail Bharat Mata. I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and am extremely happy for the strike. Continue launching such strikes and destroy Pakistan, this is my prayer to Modi saheb,” she was reported by news agency PTI as saying.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to the Rashtrapati Bhavan to inform President Droupadi Murmu about the operation.

Union home minister Amit Shah will chair a meeting through video conferencing with chief ministers, DGPs and chief secretaries of Pakistan and Nepal bordering states.

An IndiGo airline spokesperson averred that because of government’s notice on airspace closure post-Operation Sindoor, more than 165 of its airline flights from several airports, such as Amritsar, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Gwalior, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kishangarh, Leh, Rajkot, and Srinagar, have been cancelled up to May 10.

Lt Gen (Retd) Devendra Pratap Pandey, talking to news agency PTI, stated that the Operation Sindoor is not a high pressure scenario for the Indian armed forces as this is what they are trained for.

“For Indian military, it is not a high pressure situation, we are prepared for this. Of course, when Pahalgam occurred, I am sure the machinery was already in place to react to this based on what directions come. We have just provided response at the lowest level, as of now, we perhaps are ready for any type of reaction that comes from Pakistan,” he said.

Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar termed Operation Sindoor as praised and stated that justice has indeed been served.

“It is definitely a day of fulfillment that our defence forces and government have risen to the occasion and ensured that the 26 families receive justice,” he told PTI.

Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan congratulated Operation Sindoor and stated at a press conference, “It was the right moment to take a bold and decisive action, it was a commendable act done by the Indian armed forces, we appreciate them, stand behind them, we want to inform PM Modi, we stand behind you sir, whatever decision you will make, we stand behind you.”

The central government has summoned an all-party meeting on Thursday, May 8, at 11 am.

At the Cabinet meeting held at his residence at Lok Kalyan Marg, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian armed forces’ ‘Operation Sindoor’, news agency PTI cited sources saying.

Over 200 flights were cancelled and at least 18 airports, including Srinagar, have been temporarily closed to operations following Operation Sindoor by Indian security forces.

News agency PTI quoted sources to state that more than 200 flights from and to several airports have been cancelled by airlines, with IndiGo canceling as many as 160 flights.

Pakistan military spokesman Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said, “Pakistan reserves the right and will respond to this aggression at a time, place and means of our own choice.”

A Poonch police official said 10 people were killed and 45 injured in Pakistani shelling in Poonch.

“People are being shifted to Surankote. Some of them are being taken to relatives’ homes in safer areas,” the officer added.

Pakistan’s chief military spokesperson has said that 26 people have been killed and 46 injured at six locations in Indian strikes.

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday stated that ‘Operation Sindoor’ is a strong reaction by the Indian armed forces and stated that it demonstrated that India will never accept terrorism.

The US mission in Pakistan on Wednesday released a security alert, warning American citizens to depart regions of ongoing conflict amid heightened tensions in the area following India’s Operation Sindoor.

The security alert, captioned ‘Military Activity and Closed Airspace’, stated, “We are aware of reports of Indian military strikes into Pakistan. This is an ongoing situation, and we are closely following developments.”.

“US citizens are reminded of the ‘Do Not Travel’ advisory for locations in the vicinity of the India-Pakistan border and the Line of Control because of terrorism and the risk of armed conflict, and the US Department of State’s ‘Reconsider Travel’ advisory for Pakistan overall,” the alert stated.

“We are also aware that airspace has been shut down, and numerous flights have been cancelled,” it added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday presided over a meeting of the Union Cabinet at his Lok Kalyan Marg residence, hours after the Indian armed forces successfully carried out Operation Sindoor.

PTI, quoting sources, reported that he will also preside over a meeting of the Cabinet Committee of Security (CCS) to review the situation.

Pahalgam victim Sameer Guha’s wife Sarbori stated asked for Pakistan to be brought to justice and opined that this kind of episode will recur as long as the nation is not “eliminated”.

Referring to ANI, Guha stated,”This was to take place.whole Pakistan must be eliminated otherwise these types of episodes will again happen.”

The relatives of Pahalgam terror attack victim Bharath Bhushan embraced Operation Sindoor and stated that the central government has done well and that they remain in their support.

Bhushan’s father stated, “The name, ‘Operation Sindoor’ is appropriate because they have taken off the tilak of many women. That’s a good move. Government has done a good job and they have also taken the support of many nations.”

“What Pakistan has done, their bad work. They are (sheltering) terrorists in their hideouts, providing them money. They are backed and trained by Pakistan’s army. Modi has taken this message to other countries and explained Pakistan’s dirty Mode of Operation,” he added.

Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday stated that Pakistan has “gone out of its way” to attack civilian population in the Union territory after India’s Operation Sindoor against terror locations in Pakistan and PoK.

Pakistan started targeting Indian posts along the Line of Control (LoC) early on Wednesday with heavy artillery firing, hours after Indian troops launched precision strikes on nine terror sites in response to the Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives.

Ever since the April 22 terror attack at Baisaran, the worst attack on civilians in almost two decades, Pakistan has consistently breached the ceasefire along the LoC and the international border for 12 straight days. But Wednesday morning witnessed the first heavy shelling along the de-facto border in these two weeks.

Srinagar airport will be closed for civilian flights on Wednesday, the airport director said.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated on Wednesday that the nation knows how to respond appropriately to its enemies following the Indian military conducting selective attacks on Pakistan’s terror training camps.

City-Specific Activities

Delhi: 60 air raid sirens will sound citywide at 4 PM, followed by blackout simulations and evacuation drills in different districts.

Mumbai: 60 locations will be subjected to air raid sirens at 4 PM, followed by 5-minute blackouts to test the city’s crisis management.

Hyderabad: Four areas, including Secunderabad and Golconda Fort, will conduct mock drills with police, fire officials, and disaster response personnel.

Visakhapatnam: Drills are scheduled at Kotha Jalaripeta and Oxygen Towers, including air raid simulations and blackouts.
