On June 16, the producers of Prabhas’ impending flick, The Raja Saab, released the long-anticipated teaser. The horror-comedy, directed by Maruti, also stars Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan and Riddhi Kumar in principal roles.
The video begins with scenic shots of a mysterious haveli set deep in a forest. A grave voiceover in the background states: ‘This house is my body. This wealth is my life itself. Even when I have gone, I am the only one to experience it.’
The haunted haveli is engulfed in strange happenings with ghosts, ghouls, and hidden treasure. The Raja-the spirit who was once the owner-is determined to grip the treasure to himself, with death being the guarantee for anyone who tries to interfere.
Enter Prabhas, a fun-loving guy crazily in love with Nidhhi Agerwal’s character, whom he professes in a textbook Shah Rukh Khan way. He claims, quite rightly, to have such a chaotic life, and witnesses its chaos when in comes Malavika Mohanan, who appears to be obsessed with Prabhas.
Prabhas‘ life changes dramatically when he enters the haveli, pretty soon involved with a series of ghastly activities. Clouds of mist engulf the corridors; blood flows from a room, pulling his leg to the floor, all the while with a rapid-fire appearance of the magician in the form of Sanjay Dutt.
What comes next is all fun-joy-laughter-spooky and jumpy. One frame with Prabhas has him swinging burning ropes with both hands.
A day back, allegedly a leak of The Raja Saab teaser appeared online. Soon after that, the makers published a warning statement regarding these acts on X.
“Strict action will be taken and handles will be suspended immediately if any leaked content from The Raja Saab is found. We request everyone to cooperate and stand with us in protecting the experience. Let us celebrate responsibly. Be aware,” read the statement.
