SpaceX Falcon 9 O3b mPower-D Rocket Launch
1. Watching the launch from LC-39 Gantry is now possible again.
- After more than two years, America’s Space Coast’s most historic launch viewing site—LC-39 Gantry—is now open to the public again. This place is one of the few places from which people got a glimpse of Apollo and Shuttle missions. Now you too can stand there and experience that historic feeling.
2. A confluence of history and technology—launch view from a distance of just 3.4 miles.
- LC-39 Gantry is just 3.4 miles (about 5.5 kilometers) from the launchpad. This means that when the rocket takes off, you will be able to feel its sound and vibration and see it from very close. This is not an ordinary view, but an experience to remember for a lifetime.
3. Ticket price: $99—limited seats, special opportunity.
- For this special launch viewing, you will have to take a Launch Transportation Ticket (LTT), which costs $99. This ticket will be in addition to the general admission ticket. Since seats are limited, this is a very special and rare opportunity.
4. Bus Boarding Schedule and Arrangements
- Check-in will begin at 3:15 PM ET and buses will board at 3:30 PM ET. This facility will be available in the Rocket Garden, at the south end of the Saturn 1B rocket. The entire tour will be organized and timed to make the experience easy for the spectators.
5. Memorable experience with live audio-video and expert commentary
- During the launch, you will also get live feed, audio and commentary from space experts on every movement of the rocket. This will make the experience not only worth watching but also informative and exciting.
6. Watching the launch from the Main Visitor Complex is also an option.
- If you are unable to go to LC-39, you can also enjoy the launch from the Main Visitor Complex. From here, the launch will be visible from a distance, but you will get a full-day adventure with commentary, live feed and all the attractions of space exploration.
7. Atlantis North Lawn—Another great viewing spot
- If you want to stay within the Visitor Complex, the Atlantis North Lawn is an ideal viewing point. It is located to the left of the Space Shuttle Atlantis and from here the rocket is clearly visible crossing the border of the trees. Limited bleacher seating is also available here.
8. Viewing distance is about 7 miles, but the atmosphere is completely space-centric.
- The launchpads about 12 kilometers away from this area, but live commentary, videos and spaceflight information turn it into a great experience. The atmosphere here is full of excitement and energy during the launch.
9. Launch Mission Name—O3b mPOWER Satellites
- Through this launch, SpaceX’s Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket will launch SES’s O3b mPOWER satellites. These satellites are for next-generation connectivity services and are important for delivering internet to remote areas around the world.
10. The booster will land on a droneship—watch this miracle of technology live.
- After launch, the booster part of the Falcon 9 will land back on a droneship. This technology is one of SpaceX’s biggest successes and watching it live is no less than a miracle for those interested in science and technology.
